Black Alicante 2021 expresses all the freshness and fruit of the grape variety. Perfectly ripe Castelão grapes, hand-picked from a vineyard belonging to the sacerdotal seminary of Caparide, on the Estoril coast, northwest of Lisbon. The freshness and long hours of sunshine give this medium-bodied, fresh, and elegant red wine aromas of raspberry and redcurrant, with earthy notes. Spontaneously fermented in the winery in Belem.

Aged for 18 months in used barrels, which gives it a balanced, structured profile with present but integrated tannins.

Aroma: It presents a "serious" aroma, with emphasis on ripe black fruit, black pepper, and a light touch of pine needles.
Palate: Fruity with continuous notes of violet. It presents earthy and mushroom notes, indicating complexity.

Pairs well with white meats, salads, appetisers, vegetable stews, and umami-flavored dishes.

Adega Belem is a small urban winery located inside an old car workshop in the Belem district, in Lisbon. The winery specialises in premium wines with minimal intervention, made from indigenous Iberian grape varieties in batches of 500 to 2500 bottles.. We advocate a sophisticated artisan approach to winemaking and wines with a strong personality and an undeniable deliciousness factor.
